The traditional working harbour is abuzz with beach and boat life and children love getting their crabbing nets and bait from the local shops. With fabulous walks, the beach on your doorstep and the fabulous West Wittering Beach just a short drive away, it is the perfect location for family holidays by the sea.  It is equally fabulous for romantic getaways by the sea or to enjoy coastal walks to the many local pubs by the waterfront.

The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed and large wardrobes and an ensuite shower room.  The second bedroom is super flexible and can be made up as a large super king or with twin beds. The third room is also flexible - perfect for the kids with a single bed and trundle.

On the ground floor the spacious living area has patio doors that lead straight onto the Courtyard Garden. There’s space for everyone on the large L shaped sofa and the comfy easy chair, and there are side tables to put your coffee or rose on!  The large glass dining table comfortably seats six. There is a large flat screen TV with all the main channels, prime and Netflix etc.

There is a separate fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine and milk-frother and a soda stream.

There is a guest WC downstairs and a cupboard to hang up your coats and shoes.

The courtyard garden with easy chairs and table is great for relaxing and enjoying a fabulous early morning coffee or an evening sundowner

Eating and Drinking

There are lots of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, casual and fine dining all within easy walking distance.

Driftwood Cafe always has a Q outside but it doesn’t take long to get a table inside and out for great coffee, juices, fabulous breakfasts and snacks.  Just around the corner is Vin Wine Merchants where you can try before you buy,  and also enjoy a platter of meats and cheeses inside or in the courtyard whilst you work your way through the wine list.  There are five or six pubs in walking distance - The Emsworth is a great local pub for music especially. The Crown always has local bands on and open mic nights.  The Vibrant JJ’s is great for anything from Breakfast, long lazy, or quick and easy lunches in the fabulous and eclectic Lounge and Bar and Outdoor Terraces.

The Deck is another favourite - serving coffee, great lunches and dinners in the summer months and is less than 15 minutes’ walk around the Slipper Mill Pond.

For fine dining there are two great options - our favourite is Fat Olives, fabulous Mediterranean menu for lunch and dinner, just down the road with an outdoor courtyard in the summer and fire in the winter! You will need to book a table here as soon as you have booked the house!  Lastly, 36 on the quay is also great with views across the Mill Pond.

Shopping

We love Emsworth and South Street as you can step out of the door and there is the Butcher the Baker and the Candlestick Maker right on your doorstep.  M.R Starr the butcher does the best Minty Lamb Chops, Sausages and Bacon for the Full English and plenty of choices for Sunday Roast.  He also has a fabulous Fish Counter with Crab Claws and Cockles when they are in season.  Heidis a few doors down does the most fabulous bread, rolls and a naughty selection of cakes and pastries.  Tiers has all the local fruit and veg to go with your purchases from M R Starrs.  And not forgetting the Candlestick Maker can be found at Emsworth Home Hardware who has pretty much everything in stock that you want to buy.  There are also a few other fun shops to buy your souvenirs and plenty of antiques and charity shops for those looking for treasure. You can get your hair cut at a variety of places in the Village and there is a new nail bar on Queen Street.

There are numerous walks close by - wander either way around the coast at the bottom of the road.  Turn right to stroll around Emsworth Mill Pond and follow Western Parade round towards Hayling Island, passing the Langstone Mill Pond - the Royal Oak and The Ship are both great places for a drink and fuel stop!
